The St. Pete Science Center, a beloved STEM education hub that closed in 2014, is being revitalized by The St. Petersburg Group (SPG) into an AI-focused learning center for emerging tech, with plans to break ground in early 2026 and open by 2027, offering hands-on experiences, entrepreneurship support, and community programs for all ages, blending in-person and virtual learning. The Science Center project will preserve the iconic local institution while also including many technological updates to meet the area's evolving needs. The plans include an AI Village, a focus on cutting-edge technology, a star-gazing center, and unique event spaces.
